The piece is inspired by the rare natural phenomenon known as the Green Flash; a green ray of light  that appears momentarily at sunset. The light serves as a metaphor for hope, faith and a reminder that in the darkest moments, a ray of light can break through. The figure's movement towards the Green Flash represents the act of seeking and following the light each day, taking an ordinary practice of perseverance into something profound.
